Notably, batteries was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q1 2024, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of future of work and social, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the mining industry, Rio Tinto had the greatest increase in references for batteries in Q1 2024, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 77 batteries-related sentences in the company's filings - 0.5% of all sentences - and a decrease of 25% in Q1 2024 compared with Q1 2023. Sandvik’s mentions of batteries rose by 414% to 36 and Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile’s by 84% to 35 and Glencore’s by 71% to 25 and Deere & Co’s by 9% to 20.
