EcoCatalysts is a provider of green and sustainable technologies for the mining industry and offers non-toxic advanced treatment of water resources, soils and air. EcoCatalysts provides oil spill remediation capabilities for mining operations, using high-performance bio-catalytic products.
Our environmentally friendly treatments are globally recognised as sound alternatives to aggressive chemical treatments.
Our unique bio-organic catalysts are categorised according to four key actions:
- Biologically-derived catalysts resulting in solubilising organic matter
- Surface-modifying compounds that increase dissolved oxygen
- Carbon activation platforms that self organise components for a more efficient biological reaction
- Supplements and trace elements for a healthier bacterial metabolism
Bio-organic catalyst solutions for accidental hydrocarbon release
EcoCatalysts’ bio-organic catalysts are a natural, high-performance solution to accidental hydrocarbon release, of which there is an increased risk in the mining industry.
Made from a fermentation supernatant derived from plants and minerals, EcoCatalysts’ broad spectrum bio-organic catalysts have stabilisers and a non-ionic surfactant.
Bio-organic catalysts maximise oxygen transfer by self-organising and creating microbubbles with high oxygen transfer characteristics, unlike conventional organic catalysts, which can limit oxygen transfer.
Biodegradable approach to hydrocarbon remediation
Our biodegradable approach to hydrocarbon remediation can alleviate your occupational, health, safety and environmental (OHSE) concerns.
EcoCatalysts’ bio-organic catalyst properties include:
- Non-toxic
- Non-irritant
- Hypoallergenic
- Bacteria-free
- Biodegradable
Outcomes from using our bio-organic treatments include:
- Fast total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) remediation for soil, freshwater or saltwater releases
- Immediate suppression of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other organic odour
- Rapid raising FP and lowering LEL for confined space safety
- Recirculation oxidation systems that treat contaminated groundwater, streams and ponds
Bio-organic catalyst remediation of harmful chemicals
Designed specifically for use in treating hydrocarbon contamination in water and soil, EcoCatalysts’ bio-organic catalyst, Nontox™, rapidly reduces highly volatile carbon components by accelerating the biological breakdown of most petroleum hydrocarbons to safe levels.
Nontox™ catalyses, hydrolyses and oxidises the contaminants, resulting in the petroleum hydrocarbons being reduced to carbon dioxide and water.
Remediation of harmful chemicals can be achieved with Nontox™, which could cause severe environmental damage if left untreated.
Treatment for contaminated soil, water and air
EcoCatalysts’ Nontox™ is a concentrate that is diluted and applied in spray form to treat approximately 1 cbm of light to medium contaminated soil. Application of Nontox™ to soil allows for the soil to be reused after treatment and reduces transport and dumping costs.
Nontox™ provides effective atmosphere control of odours and volatile organic compounds. Flash and toxic hazards in confined areas can also be reduced with EcoCatalysts’ bio-organic catalyst.
Hydrocarbon slicks in freshwater and salt water can be treated with a diluted surface spray of Nontox™, which is non-hazardous to marine life and cleans rocks and beaches. Contaminated groundwater, streams and ponds can also be treated by applying Nontox™ through recirculation systems.
Approximately 800m² of a hydrocarbon slick can be treated with the diluted solution. Nontox™ can be diluted with saltwater freshwater or wastewater.
