Since 1961, Neptune™ Chemical Pump Co. has been a premier manufacturer of chemical metering pumps, chemical feed systems and chemical injection accessories for the mining and related industries.
Neptune’s hydraulic and mechanical diaphragm metering pumps are well-known for accurately and reliably injecting chemicals in many water-treatment applications, including those found in mining operations.
Other Neptune products include make-down systems that are used to prepare and activate liquid or dry polymer for injection into water and wastewater treatment processes, as well as a complete line of portable mixers.
Hydraulic diaphragm metering pumps
Neptune’s Series 500 and 600 metering pumps set the standard in innovative motor-driven design which delivers precision and long-term reliability. The EZE-CLEAN™ valve design features a double ball check design and can be removed without disturbing the piping.
The Series 500 and 600 pumps are the only hydraulic diaphragm metering pumps that feature a Variable Oil By-pass™ stroke adjustment, delivering better valve performance by allowing the valve checks to seat longer (even in heavy liquids often found in mining during the by-pass portion of the stroke).
Each pump’s flow rate can be controlled manually through the use of a micrometer dial, regardless of whether the pump is running or stopped. Stainless steel, PVC, Kynar® or C-20 liquid-end materials of construction and hydraulically balanced Teflon® diaphragms help make Series 500 and 600 pumps compatible with a wide range of fluids. Series 500 and 600 pump motors are explosion-proof for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Mechanically actuated diaphragm metering pumps
Neptune’s Series 7000 metering pumps have been designed for use in a number of process applications in the mining industry. The pump’s mechanical design eliminates the need for contour plates on the liquid side of the diaphragm, resulting in a simple, straight-through valve and head design that optimizes flow rates.
The pumps are self-priming and deliver superior performance when pumping chemicals that can off-gas, such as sodium hypochlorite. Series 7000 pumps have suction-lift capabilities that can exceed 20ft (6m) on water-like chemicals but are also versatile enough to handle fluids with viscosities in excess of 5,000 cPs. Pump flow rates are adjustable through use of a ten-turn micrometer dial and all moving parts can run submerged in oil. Liquid-end materials include stainless steel, PVC or Kynar® with Teflon® diaphragms.
Electronic stroke control for metering pumps
Flow rates of any Series 500 and 600 pump can be controlled automatically by a process instrument, or manually from a remote location, using the electric stroke control to change its stroke length. The electric stroke control is a one-piece, self-contained electric positioner, which is mounted directly on the pump. Perfect for hazardous mining conditions, the control is explosion-proof and features a manual override in the event of instrument signal or power loss.
Series 500 and 600 pumps can also incorporate a variable-speed drive that can be controlled automatically to change the pump’s stroke speed.
